Profile: Consumer products launch by HP combined with training for large national distributors
Locations: 8 countries and up to 14 cities, 9 countries in 2005
Timeframe: 2 months (2002), 4 months (2003/2004), 3 month (2005), 3 month (2006); Event length 1 day to 1 week depending on location; Project preparation 2 months
Participants: Per country, 50 - 100 per day
Equipment: Cameras, printers, consumer PCs, flat screen monitors, network, WLAN, Web-Access, back office infrastructure
Extras: Specially prepared roadshow semi-trailer must be dismantled and then repacked at each stop (2002). Creation of an event trailer with permanently installed equipment (2004). Creation of special event cubical.
Tasks:
- Provide all required devices and infrastructure
- Transport all equipment within required timeframe
- Install and maintain all infrastructure
- As required, assist in product presentation on the basis of in-depth knowledge of new products
- Unpack and reload the show trailers
- Dismantle and pack all equipment
- Event management in association with the customer's representative and the location owner
Challenges:
- Pre-visits to the various planned locations not possible
- Required to master products still in development as a basis for the installation
- Extreme time pressure with no margin for error
- Regional/national requirements
- Ensure sufficient equipment and parts, as well as accessories
- Theft prevention
